After curing, the panels receive another coat of acrylic resins for additional protection. 3M Corporation processes the stones with a UV ray protective coating. Unlike other metal roofs, stone coated steel roofs stand up to hail, wind, and ultra violet rays. On a re-roofing project, the existing roof does not need to be removed.
